Sudička
Also known as: sudičky, sudice, suditsy, sudzhenitsy
The Czech and Slovak maidens of fate, three women in white who come to a newborn child at night and decree its destiny.
The Czech sudičky (Serbian sudice) are three maidens in white who come at night to a newborn child and decree its fate by lot or by spinning: the first gives it life, the second fixes its fortune, the third foretells its death. Afanasyev places them beside the Lithuanian laumas, the Bulgarian orisnitsy, the Greek Moirai and the Norse Norns.
