Boqiu
A thousand-year-old fox released by Governor Chen Fei, who warns him of every danger and saves his life before ascending to Heaven.
Boqiu is the fox of the story of Chen Fei. Caught on the governor's bed at night, he begs for his life, and in return warns Chen Fei of bandits and of a plot against him, appearing as a red light like lightning. When the plotters attack, Chen Fei calls his name, and something like a length of crimson silk strikes them down. Boqiu then announces that he is to ascend to Heaven, and is seen no more.
