Charm pearl

A pearl said to lie in a fox's mouth; whoever owns it is loved by everyone.

An old monk in the story of Liu Zhong'ai says that a fox's mouth holds a charm pearl (meizhu, 媚珠), which makes its owner loved by all. He draws it out by tantalising a captive fox with roasting meat in a narrow jar until it drools and spits the pearl out. The pearl is round and clear, like a go piece.
