Luo Gongyuan
A Daoist wonder-worker of Emperor Xuanzong's court who fights the fox Liu Cheng and banishes him to Silla.
Luo Gongyuan first cures a magistrate of a Heavenly Fox's delusion with talismans. Years later, when the fox Liu Cheng has forced the same family to give him their daughter, Gongyuan fights a duel of magic with him, feigns death, binds him with divine magic, and carries him in a sack to Emperor Xuanzong. The fox is banished to Silla, where, the tale says, he is still worshipped as a god.
